Полиграфическая промышленность, производство фототехники и оптических приборов, электротехника. В 1639 С. Дей [Daye, Stephen] основал здесь первую в Северной Америке типографию, а в 1775 Дж. Вашингтон [ Washington, George] принял на себя командование американской армией. Дом-музей Лонгфелло [ Longfellow National Historic Site].2) Город на востоке штата Мэриленд, на Восточном побережье [ Eastern Shore]. 10,9 тыс. жителей (2000). Рыболовство, добыча устриц, креветок. Яхты. Пищевая промышленность. Основан в 1684.
